Our Bush Terminal Park filed station, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, was installed in July 2016 with one million spat-on-shell oysters. Steel oyster cabinets with hanging files allow for easy monitoring by community groups, students, and volunteers.

What I love most about the reef at Bush Terminal Park is that there are always so many people willing to participate and be active members of the community. It also has a beautiful view and it’s a great place for everyone to come together and spend time with their friends and family. What’s great about the reef that we have here is that it gives community members access to the water in a way that was not feasible before, while also allowing people to make a difference through oyster restoration in their own backyard.
