What Students Do
Students build a model of how energy moves through the New York Harbor ecosystem. They visualize the role oysters play as both a food source and as a source of food for other living things, and identify patterns in organism interactions.
Pacing & Logistics
Pacing: 1 class period (~45 min).
Logistics: Make a copy of the lesson plan, slides, and handouts. Print enough handouts for each student. Cut out food web cards and prepare a class display space.
